My Approach
Clients come to me in various states of anxiety, confusion or emotional difficulty, and by working together we can help shed light upon the underlying issues that may have contributed to their current state of unease. Together we work to raise awareness and understanding of the nature of their relationships and behaviour patterns in order to foster a greater sense of ease with themselves. We work to create new possibilities in terms of relationships and an expanded sense of future life choices.
Trained in a number of models, including Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I work integratively and tailor my approach depending upon the nature of the individual and the issues they come with. However, in general I work with the psychodynamic principles that highlight the importance of early childhood experiences and the effect that they can have upon current relationships and life choices. I find that the relationship between us as client and therapist can help bring some of the old behaviour patterns to light in order that they can be transformed. It is very important to me that you feel safe and supported in our relationship and that you know that you are heard in a genuine and non judgmental way.
